Manchester United will sign Southampton star Nathaniel Clyne in the summer as the Daily Mirrora s David McDonnell revealed on MUTV yesterday that it was a “done deal”.

The 24-year old has been linked with a move to Manchester United for a few months now and it was even reported by ESPN a few weeks back that the Red Devils were going to make an offer which included Javier Hernandez for the Saints star.

Clyne began his career at Crystal Place, where he started at the age of 7. He went up the youth ranks and cemented himself in the senior squad after making his debut as a 17 year old. He was named a Crystal Palacea s Player of the Yeara after the 2010-11 season, where he featured for the side in every single game, becoming the youngest player in the Football League to do so. In July 2012, he was signed by newly promoted Southampton.

In October last year, Clyne was named in the England squad for Euro 2016 qualifiers against San Marino and Estonia. Injury to Glen Johnson got Clyne his break in the England squad, but even after the Liverpool full backa s comeback, the full-back has been preferred by Hodgson due to his good showings and present form.

The player has also been interesting Chelsea according to some reports but McDonnell revealed on MUTVa s a United in Pressa program that a deal was already in place for the player.

McDonnell said on MUTV: a What Ia m told, ita s a done deal.a

If initial reports are to be believed, United will be spending around A?25m to land the Saints man in the summer.

The arrival of Clyne would almost definitely signal the end of Rafael at Manchester United. The Brazilian has not been involved much this season and Valencia has been preferred by Louis van Gaal, a move which has definitely paid off. The addition of the Southampton right-back would prove to be extremely valuable as the full-back could add a lot of strength to the team and help United compete for trophies and the Premier League title next season.
