Having held Arsenal FC to a 0-0 draw at the Emirates, Liverpool FC defender Dejan Lovren has hailed the defensive performance of the Reds who have kept their third clean sheet in a row in the Premier League.
Liverpool FC came away from the Emirates with a well-deserved point after shutting out Arsenal FC. While Arsenal themselves have not been in great form at home in this season, having been beaten by West Ham convincingly on the opening day, they still put the Reds under immense pressure in the second half.
One man who had faced increasing criticism for his performance last season was Dejan Lovren. However, the defender played an assured game to keep Olivier Giroud at bay.
Lovren hails “defensively perfect” Liverpool FC
.
Hailing Liverpool FC’s defensive performance, Croatia international Lovren was quoted by the Liverpool FC official website, as saying: a Ia d say wea re disappointed [not to have won]. Especially in the first half, we had so many chances. They also had some good chances.
a But I think we were defensively perfect and everyone did a great job. We need to continue like this and the goals will come.
a We knew it was going to be a tough game a and we lost here last season a but after the first two games of the season, we had a lot of confidence, so we came here looking for three points.”
Lovren hails Cech performance
Liverpool FC were twice denied by Arsenal’s new signing between the sticks. Cech pulled off two world class saves in the first half to thwart Benteke and Coutinho.
a The first thing for us was not to concede and then after that, to finish [chances],a added Lovren. “Cech was amazing and made a brilliant save from Benteke on the line.
a But in the end, ita s a good point because we know ita s tough here every time.a
Liverpool FC will host West Ham just four days after the Arsenal FC game.
