David De Gea Won’t Face A Problem With Van Gaal Or The Fans At Manchester United, Believes Juan Mata

Having failed to secure a move to Real Madrid during the closing hours of the transfer window, David de Gea faces an uncertain return to Manchester United following his commitments with the national team. However, Juan Mata believes that the Spaniard wona t face any problems with Louis Van Gaal or the fans at Old Trafford as he backs him to have another successful outing with the club.

Deemed to be a distracteda during the course of the summer, Louis Van Gaal dropped De Gea from the starting line-up with new signing Sergio Romero taking his place between the posts. But with the Spaniard failing to secure a move to Real Madrid, it will be interesting to see how he is received by Louis Van Gaal and the fans alike.

David De Gea is Highly Regarded by the Club and the Coach

As reported by Sky Sports, Juan Mata opined that David de Gea will continue to command respect at Manchester United despite making it clear that he was inclined to move to Spain over the summer.

“I don’t think there’ll be a problem with the club, the coach or the fans. That’s what I perceive. The fans love him very much, he’s highly regarded by the club and the coach.”

Speaking about his national team-mate, Mata reiterated the fact that De Gea was an important component of the team at Manchester United as he reminded the fans of the keeper’s contribution over the last two years.

“The last two years David has been the best player in our team. His saves have earned us a lot of points. I have no doubt this will be a very good year, too.a

Though Louis Van Gaal made it clear that the Spaniard will have to a earna his place in the team again, it remains to be seen if Manchester United can coax the player to sign a long term contract with the club. The club made it apparent with their . statement that they were delighted to retain the services of David de Gea as Real Madrid and Manchester United took turns to blame one another for the transfer fiasco.
