Clyne Must Be Signed As A Priority, Insists Liverpool Legend

Liverpool FC must sign Nathaniel Clyne this summer, insisted Liverpool legend Alan Kennedy.

The Southampton right back is a Liverpool target this summer. The Merseysiders have already had a A?10million bid rejected for the player but they are not deterred and will launch another bid soon to acquire his services.

Two time European championship winner (with Liverpool) Kennedy believes buying the player is extremely essential for the club as they need a quality right back and Clyne would be a perfect fit for the side.

a Clyne is very good, we all saw how good he was when Southampton came to Anfield last season, and he scored their goal.

.

a He has got something about him everybody likes and he is something we need.

a If we dona t think Manquillo is going to do it at the club and we have lost Glen Johnson, the logical thing is to go out and buy the next best thing and I think that is Nathaniel Clyne.a

Clyne has one year remaining on his contract and has refused to extend his contract at the club. He was linked with a move to Manchester United during the latter half of last season but United’s interest in the player faded after they targetted Dani Alves. With Alves extending his contract at Barcelona, and Liverpool looking likely to land Clyne, Louis van Gaal will focus on another target.

Southamptona s value Clyne at around A?15 million and the Reds will have to match that value or come close to it to land the player.
