Brazilian striker Lucas Piazon, is unhappy with the lack of first team opportunities at Stamford Bridge, having appeared for Chelsea FC only thrice, and having spent most of last three years on loan at different clubs.
Piazon, now 20, was signed by the English Champions in 2011 for a 7.5 million beating competition from a number of top European club’s like, Real Madrid, Manchester United, Fenerbahce among others. However, Piazon has spent most of his career on loan at Malaga, Vitesse and Eintracht Frankfurt, and is considered one of the hottest prospects in Brazil, while he is set to represent his home country in next year’s Olympics.

The 20-year-old has vented out his frustration for having been loaned out every-time after loans with clubs in Spain, Holland and Germany. However, Piazon has since then denied making these comments, and claimed that he is still interested in having a future at the Stamford Bridge, according to a statement on his . Facebook page.
Lucas said: “To go now back to Chelsea, sincerely, is a waste of time. It is nothing I look forward to….To be able to play a few minutes every second week, is something that does not make me feel very well. I rather play every weeek, as it has been so far, for example with Eintracht. I have spoken to Chelsea so far only with the technical director, but not yet to Mourinho.”
A member of his family was quoted as saying- “He never thought he would be in such an awkward situation…being transferred to Chelsea, his dream club, and now, in order to do what he does best, play footballl, he has to be far away from there…”
While, his ex-coach, Muricy Ramalho believes that adapting to four different styles of playing in fours years is too much of an ask, and could potentially hinder his development.
He had earlier said- “First the hard adaptation to the English football then, moving to the more technical Spanish league, then the harsh Dutch League and finally, the strong and physical German football…all that in less than three years, and at the age of 19, 20…it is not easy for anyone! His magnificent talent, is being wasted…”
Chelsea FC have released the following statement regarding the future of the Brazilian:
“The career path set by the club, in total agreement with the athlete, is that Piazon plays for other clubs to acquire more experience before joining definitively the list of Blues.
“This, by the way, is part of Chelsea’s strategy and with other young Brazilians and also athletes of other nationalities.
“There is the possibility of a new loan for next season as part of the final phase of preparation Piazon.”
The youth policy is paying huge dividends for Chelsea FC
Chelsea FC’s strategy to sign the most talented players in their teens from foreign clubs and loaning them out to other clubs has paid rich dividends in the past. With Thibaut Courtois and Romelu Lukaku representing the two sides of the coin. If a player develops to Chelsea’s standard, then he can be absorbed by the Blues, however, if the player fails to impress during his loan spell or during his time with the club, the player will be off-loaded making a hefty profit on the a 7.5 million that the club had spent on him.
Piazon was named the Chelsea Young Player of the Year in his first season with the London club, however, the Brazilian striker’s future depends on whether manager, Jose Mourinho sees him as part of his plans, or if he needs to find himself a new employed.
From being part of the 22 player squad, ahead of Malouda, in 2012, and being named Chelsea Young Player of the Year in his first season, Lucas mysteriously (to Brazilian football pundits) faces an uncertain future.
