Chelsea Want Walcott Or Chamberlain In Exchange For Petr Cech

Chelsea FC have declared that they would sell their goalkeeper Petr Cech to Arsenal FC only if the Gunners give them either Theo Walcott or Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in exchange.

Petr Cech, who has remained out of favour at Chelsea for almost the entire season due to Thibaut Courtois’ presence, is set to leave the club after spending 11 seasons.

Several top European sides have shown interest in roping the Czech Republic custodian which include Premier League giants Arsenal and Manchester United. It was reported that Petr Cech will be available for a bargain price of A?10million.

According to recent reports, Chelsea club officials have informed their city rivals that they would ask for one of the two Arsenal players in exchange of their goalkeeper.

Club officials said, “Arsene Wenger want a top keeper from us, Cech. Well, in exchange, we would like Walcott or Oxlade-Chamberlain.

“They may not be in the Arsenal team but we are convinced Jose Mourinho could make them into top players again.a

Theo Walcott did not get much game time at Arsenal this season. He sat out during the first half of the season, due to injury concern and then in the second half he failed to break into the first XI squad. The presence of Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil and Santi Cazorla in the midfield has pushed Walcott into the sidelines. It was speculated a month back that Theo Walcott may not extend his contract and might opt to leave the club.

Similarly for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, he remained out of action for the majority of the season due to serious injuries and now it is highly unlikely that he will get regular game time at Arsenal.

Both the English wingers are extremely hardworking and even though they are not at their best of form, the Blues officials suggest that Jose Mourinho’s guidance will help them to do well at the club.
