Mauro Icardi has ended speculation linking him with a move to Chelsea FC by signing a new four-year deal at Inter Milan.
Icardi will earn a 4m per season and gets to keep 50% of his image rights as per reports in Sky Italia.
Icardi was being pursued by a host of European Clubs including Chelsea FC on the back of a tremendous campaign having notched up 22 goals as Inter Milan failed to qualify for Europe. Lack of European football has proved no obstacle for the young Argentine to sign a new contract with the Nerazzurri.
All players want to be in the Champions League, but I’m happy here at Inter,’ Icardi told Inter Milan’s official website. ‘I hope I can qualify for that competition next year with a great Nerazzurri side.’
With Icardi ending any speculation of his move to Chelsea FC, the London club are looking to lure Falcao back to the Premier League from Monaco in order to replace out-of-contract Didier Drogba in the squad. They are also linked with moves for Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann and Barcelona’s Pedro Rodriguez who has only a year to run to his contract. Chelsea FC are also hoping to win the battle for Brazilian International defender Joao Miranda as Manchester United are set to go head to head with them.
Juan Cuadrado with Inter and Roma, Petr Cech with Arsenal, Manchester United and PSG, have both been linked with moves away from Stamford Bridge. Inter are preparing a big offer for the Columbian Winger with Cech quoted saying that he will decide his future within a fortnight as Manchester United and Arsenal wait for his choice.
Chelsea FC will also have to ward off interest from Italy for their young French defender Kurt Zouma. Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero has made no secrets of his admiration for the player’s physical ability: “I already signed Moisander from Ajax and I am trying to get Zouma, because they are very physical players.”
