Jose Mourinho’s last day as the Chelsea FC manager was a testament to the reported discord within the dressing room, with a bust-up being reported to have happened during a practice match at the club’s training grounds.
Chelsea FC made the shocking announcement that they had sacked manager Jose Mourinho for a second time, as the Blues prepare for their Premier League clash with fellow relegation strugglers Sunderland on Saturday.
However, according to The Times, the Blues players were involved in a rather heated exchange, as the Chelsea FC first team were playing a practice match against the U-21 players at the club. Midfielder Cesc Fabregas reportedly lunged into a dangerous challenge with one of the junior players, which did not go down to well with everyone, turning the practice game “into a shoving match”.
While this incident took place on Wednesday, the manager himself was sacked from the club the day after, just ahead of the crucial festive period of the season.
The atmosphere at Chelsea FC was already at its lowest with the club dangling just one point above the relegation zone, in their worst start to the season in 22 years.
Hiddink favourite to take over
