The Chelsea FC skipper is confident new signing Radamel Falcao can rediscover his best form as the Blues prepare to take on Swansea City in their opening game of the season at Stamford Bridge on Saturday
John Terry has expressed his faith in new Chelsea FC no.9 Radamel Falcao following the Colombian’s loan signing from AS Monaco over the summer. The former England international believes the striker can get back to his best if he gets a run of games under his belt in the upcoming campaign.
“His movement is unbelievable”
Although Radamel Falcao endured a torrid time at Manchester United last season – scoring just 4 Premier League goals – Chelsea FC legend John Terry recalls the difficulty faced by him and his centre-back partner Gary Cahill when the Blues took on the Red Devils at Stamford Bridge in April.
“His movement is unbelievable,” Terry is quoted as saying by London’s Evening Standard. “Literally two minutes into the game we played against Manchester United last season I turned to Gaz (Cahill) and said ‘we need to be on it today’.

“After two minutes he’d given me an elbow, he was backing into me, he was coming short, running in behind – he wouldn’t leave me alone. He was up for it.”
The former England captain believes Falcao can be a hit for Chelsea FC as they prepare to defend their Premier League title. Terry is quoted by the Evening Standard as saying: “Now I have seen him first hand in training on a daily basis and his finishing is unbelievable. I think if he gets a run in the side he can reproduce his form of the past.
a His career has been all about goals and scoring goals on the big occasion so Ia m hoping that is what he brings to the side. He wants to succeed and no doubt that is why he has come to us. He wants us to win things and if we are to win things he is going to have to score a lot of goals. We are hoping that it is a great combination and he does really well for us.a
Falcao will get plenty of chances to prove himself .
Given Diego Costa’s injury issues, El Tigre will not find game time hard to come by. He will have to compete with Frenchman LoA?c R my for a place in the first-team, but could also be paired with either Costa or the former Newcastle United striker up front for the Blues.
The Colombian is quite evidently most comfortable in the penalty area, and his intelligence in the box is something the Blues attacking players should look to take advantage of. Unlike Costa, Falcao is not a striker that will necessarily run down channels or look to assert himself physically against opposition defenders.
However, it is his subtle movements in the box and lethal finishing ability that made him the feared striker that he was, and with the likes of Oscar, Eden Hazard and Cesc F bregas in behind, it could be that Falcao goes some way towards rediscovering his form.
Chelsea FC took a gamble with the former Atl ti man, but if the 29-year-old can get back to even half of his peak ability, he will have been worth it.
