Chelsea FC And Atletico Madrid Agree A Fee Of A?15 Million For Filipe Luis

Atletico Madrid are set to complete the signing of Filipe Luis from Chelsea FC for a fee believed to be in the region of A?15m.

Filipe Luisa future at the club has been under constant speculation this summer, despite joining them just one year back. The 29-year-old Brazilian failed to grab a regular place in the starting line-up since his arrival from Atletico Madrid. Jose Mourinho has preferred Cesar Azpilicueta over the Luis in the left side of the defence with Branislav Ivanovic starting as the right back.

Filipe Luis has been linked with a move back to Spain, to join his former club Atletico this summer. Club president Enrique Cerezo earlier confirmed that they are negotiating a deal with Chelsea for this transfer to take place, and according to reports an agreement has been reached between both these clubs.

Abdul Baba Rehman to replace him?

It is unfortunate for Luis that he couldna t make it into the starting line-up of the Premier League champions, but he now has the opportunity to restart his career with his former club. It however still remains to be seen exactly what kind of reception the fans will provide him with, considering they labelled him as a traitor when he left the club last summer.

As Jose Mourinho mentioned above, Chelsea will now look to sign a replacement and reports suggest that they are close to securing the signature of Augsburg left back Abdul Baba Rehman. The German club are reportedly willing to sell the defender for a fee of A?17 million.
