Celtic Football club welcomes India Salgaocar FC into their partnership program. Goaa s Salgaocar FC thus, becomes first Indian club to tie up with the Scottish giants. As a part of the new partnership deal, experienced coaches from Celtic visited India last week to associate themselves with the I-League side and reach out to the local community and players.
In their official website, the club announced, “Celtica s connection with India has been longstanding, however this is the first time we have developed a relationship with another professional club in this region. We are excited to see what can be developed from this unique relationship.a
Salgaocar club president, Mr. Shivanand V. Salgaocar said, a We at Salgaocar FC are delighted to be closely associated with Celtic FC.

Celtic FCa s connection with Indian football is nothing new. In the 1930s, Mohammed Salim had joined the club and became first ever Indian player to play for a European top tier club.
Most recently, The Scottish club entered a three-year deal with Mahindra group. More than 3000 budding footballers were sent to the club for training and other facilities.
This deal with an I-League club is a first of its kind in Indian football.
