Petr Cech has opened talks with Turkish club Besiktas over a potential summer move, confirmed his agent.
After the return of Thibaut Courtois from a loan spell at Atletico Madrid, Petr Cech has been serving as the second keeper for Chelsea. The stopper has made only five league appearances for the champions this season and it looks like his time at the Stamford Bridge is coming to an end.
After spending 10 seasons with the London-based club, Cech is eyeing a move away from Chelsea as he is in search of first team action. The Czech Republic international is believed to have attracted interest from Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid. But a move to Turkish club Besiktas is also a possibility.
“I have been in contact with Besiktas, we are in talks,” Cech’s agent Viktor Kolar was qouted by Turkish publication Fanatik.
“Turkey is a choice for Cech, but we will decide when the league is over.”
While Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho, has expressed his wish of having Cech to stay at the club, it seems like he is getting ready for life without the 32-year old keeper. According to the The Metro, Chelsea are closing in on QPR keeper Rob Green to replace Cech.
Reports say that a A?2 million is set to go through and the Englishman will don the blue kit next season. Green is 35-years old and it is unlikely that the keeper will last more than one season at Chelsea. Green will be used as a back-up to be used only when first choice Thibaut Courtois is unavailable or needs rest.
