Carlos Bacca Has An Agreement To Join AC Milan: Agent

Carlos Baccaa s agent Sergio Barila has confirmed that the player has reached an agreement to sign for AC Milan amidst interest from Liverpool FC.

Liverpool FC have been handed a setback in their pursuit of a ‘marquee’ striker as one of their top targets Carlos Bacca has agreed a move to AC Milan.

The Sunday Telegraph had confirmed that Liverpool FC were looking into activating the 30 million Euro release clause of the Colombian forward from Seville, who had an impressive season, guiding the Spanish side to Europa League win with a 28 goal haul that also saw him becoming a part of the top five scorers in La Liga with 20 strikes.

The reports said that bids for both, Fernando Llorente and Carlos Bacca were being sized up as Liverpool FC looked to give a clear signal Aston Villa to lower their 32.5 million pounds asking price for Christian Benteke or else, the Merseysiders will look for other options.

The player’s agent, Sergio Barila, had earlier said that Liverpool FC were one of the teams that were priority for Bacca,”Before he went to Chile, we wrote down a list of clubs that fit that description (of teams Bacca prefers) and Liverpool FC was on that list.”

With Liverpool FC deciding not to make an offer for the Colombian, AC Milan have stole a march and snapped up the player.

a I can confirm that Milan and the player have reached an agreement,a said Baccaa s agent Sergio Barila.

a Carlos has chosen the best for his future, it is normal to be happy.a

Carlos Bacca is currently in Barranquilla to spend some time with his family on holidays, after his national side Colombia were knocked out of the Copa Am rica in the quarter-finals.

The striker, currently under contract at Sevilla, spoke about his likely move to Milan: a It needs to be confirmed, but what my person of confidence said is true: wea ve reached an agreement with Milan, which is the club with 100% of the possibility [of signing me]a , he said to journalists in his home city.

Liverpool FC though, if they wish to sign the player, can still get the deal done. As per reports from Spanish newspaper AS, AC Milan and Sevilla are meeting to discuss payment for the transfer which is yet to be agreed despite agreement between player and AC Milan.

The report says:

.

The Italian side have decided to pay the 30 million buy-out clause, but know that Sevilla would much rather do the deal by way of an agreed transfer, rather than Milan simply paying the buy-out clause, for tax reasons. Milan may use this to their advantage, but the most likely outcome is for a transfer deal to be agreed that suits both parties.

Well, while it does seem unlikely that Carlos Bacca will play for any other club than AC Milan, next season, it is unlikely that Liverpool FC will follow up their interest with a bid for the player and could very well be setting their eyes again on Christian Benteke with the player refusing to sign the contract offered to him by Aston Villa with two years to go before his deal to expire.

Pressure clearly is building on Aston Villa to sell the player or risk losing him for much lesser 12 months down the line.
