. Brendan Rodgers has stated that he would opt against Liverpool sending Divock Origi on yet another loan in winter, amidst strong interests from a wide array of clubs in Stuttgart, Bordeaux and Norwich.

The Anfield side brought down the Belgian prodigy from Lille and immediately loaned him back to the very club, where he continued to impress, but finds his first-team opportunities limited after joining his parent club in summer and has now drop down the pecking order behind Daniel Sturridge and Christian Benteke.

The Northern Irishman, however, wants him to acclimatize with the Anfield atmosphere, but stated that he would decide upon his Liverpool future at the end of the season. Branding the 20-year-old as a humble guy, he also admitted that it would take time for him to adapt to the English game.

“Divock Origi had his loan period last year. This year is about him coming in and adapting. We’ll review where he’s at the end of the season. The focus on Divock is goals and games. It takes time to adapt. For us it’s about nurturing talent along. He’s a humble guy and he knows he’s here to develop. It’s a big step.”

Divock Origi was an ever present fixture at Lille last season as he was directly involved in 13 goals in 44 appearances, but could even follow in the footsteps of Xherdan Shaqiri and others, who failed to relaise their potential in the event of him not being presented with ample playing time.
