Borussia Dortmund fell to a 2-1 away defeat against Juventus, but manager Jurgen Klopp described it as a a top resulta for Dortmund.

Borussia Dortmund travelled to Turin to face Juventus in the round-of-16 of the Champions League. The result ended in defeat for the away side as Carlos Tevez and Alvaro Morata led their side to a 2-1 victory. Marco Reus scored the only goal of the game for Dortmund as the German capitalized on a Chiellini mistake.

Despite the defeat, Dortmund manager, Jurgen Klopp, exuded confidence and claimed that it was a a top resulta .

a Ita s not true to say we didna t have any shots in the second half, but we did play better in the first half,a Klopp told Sky Sport Italia.

a Our plan was to press them on the ball, especially Chiellini and Bonucci, which of course worked for the goal.

a However, we gave away two goals much too easily and it is always going to be a problem if you do that.

a In the first half we didna t deserve to be a goal down, but after the break Juve did enough to deserve this result.

a This changes little, we will see who emerges the winner in Dortmund. I think we can be strong at home and even if this had ended in a draw, wea d still feel the need to win at home.

a If you think about two games against Juve, ita s normal to lose one of them by a single goal. Wea ll try to make up for that in the second one.a

Goal-scorer, Marco Reus, also insisted that he is not worried with the result and everything is possible in the second leg.

“Maybe we could have got something more out of this,” he told Sky.

“After it was 1-1 we were better in this match and the 2-1 was stupid. In the second half, both teams wanted to continue their way.

“Now we have to settle this in the second leg. We have to be more determined. I am not worried at all. Everything is possible in the second leg.”

Reusa goal came from a defensive error as Chiellini slipped and Reus took advantage of the situation to net the equalizer. The midfielder revealed that he and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, both had a plan to put the Juventus defence under pressure from the start.

“You could see it. Auba and I always try to run at defenders, while Ciro Immobile attacked Pirlo, then Chiellini slipped. These situations happen only once or twice.

“Unfortunately that goal did not give us as much safety as I would have thought. In the second half we could have conceded a third.”
