Bayern Munich Chairman Claims He Knows Guardiola’s Next Club, Says Carlo Ancelotti Will Take Over Next Season

Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has revealed that he knows where Pep Guardiola is heading next summer, but was tight-lipped over disclosing the Spaniard’s subsequent club’s name.

That Guardiola would leave Bayern Munich at the end of the season was certain, but Rummenigge said it is Guardiola’s decision as to when he wants to break the ice to the media about his future.

Guardiola has been heavily linked to Chelsea and both the Manchester clubs, but where he will be seen next season remains a suspense.

Chairman knows where Guardiola is going

.

Rummenigge, despite claiming to know Pep’s next destination, has refused to reveal the identity of the club and admitted it was a difficult decision to make for the former Barcelona manager.

“I think I know where he is going,” Rummenigge told skysports. “But I want to leave the announcement to him or his new employer.

“At the Christmas party two weeks ago he came to me, he told me that he was looking for a new challenge and almost apologised. It was clearly difficult for him, I’m not disappointed in him.”

Pep Guardiola will leave Bayern Munich at the end of the season and will be replaced by Carlo Ancelotti

Ancelotti to take over Bayern Munich

Rummenigge is confident that Carlo Ancelotti will take over the reigns from Pep Guardiola, and is already planning to build the team around the Italian’s strengths.

“Carlo Ancelotti has been successful everywhere,” he said.

“He has won the Champions League three times. That is still a record, and of course he has all the qualities. He suits us, as simple as that, half of Europe was after him”.

Shuffling and sorting at top clubs

After Jos Mourinho’s sacking last week, the Chelsea FC hotseat is up for grabs, and if Louis van Gaal fails to deliver the goods in the coming two matches, there will be an opening for managers at Manchester United as well. Also, Guardiola and Ancelotti will be heading out of Bayern Munich and Real Madrid respectively.

Safe to say, there will be plenty of shuffling and sorting at the top European clubs in the summer.
