The worlda s most expensive player, Gareth Bale, believes that hea s going to stay at Real Madrid for a foreseeable amount of time. The Welshman is constantly being linked to a big money move back to the Premier League, but insists hea s staying put.

The club rumoured to be most interested in the 25 year-old are 20-time English champions Manchester United, who slurred more than A?150m in the summer.

Bale, however, doesna t seem to be paying too much heed to the reports. When asked about it, Bale told Cadena Ser, a I can’t imagine myself at Manchester United.a

“In a recent interview they asked me if I was unhappy at Real Madrid and I told them I’m really happy here. I’ve got several years left on my contract and I’m enjoying myself.”

“We’re winning trophies and I want to keep doing that here at Madrid.”

The former Spurs star then went on to reveal that he hopes to take advantage of Cristiano Ronaldo’s absence due to suspension in the weeks to come and get more chances to score from set-pieces.

Bale, who has immense respect for team-mate and Ballon da Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo, jokingly said that Ronaldoa s absence is good for him.

“We have tactical meetings to work out who takes free kicks. Usually if it’s on the left, it’s Ronaldo’s, and if it’s on the right, it’s mine.”

“With him out, I hope to take over free-kick duties and so have the chance to score more goals.”

While Bale was Madrida s key player in last seasona s two big finals, against Barcelona in the Copa del Rey and the Champions League against Atletico Madrid, the Welshman was roundly booed by the Bernabeu crowd when he didna t pass the ball to Ronaldo in a recent game against Espanyol.

Bale has been the subject of the fansa frustration this season as he hasna t been a regular and has been in and out of the side due to injury. Nonetheless, he hasna t got a very bad statistical ratio, netting 12 goals in 26 games.

Ronaldoa s absence may give him the chance to be the key player up front, and allow him to win over the fans once more. Of course, his real focus will be on making the team win the two games when the Ballon da Or winner is suspended.
