Transfer business between Chelsea FC and Atl tico Madrid is set to resume this summer with Atl ti reportedly interested in Juan Cuadrado, whilst the Blues have competition from La Liga giants Barcelona for Turkish midfielder Arda Turan
Diego Simeone appears resigned to losing Turkey captain Arda Turan this summer, with the club reportedly looking for replacements for the 28-year-old. Interestingly, Atl ti are now said to be interested in Chelsea FC winger Juan Cuadrado, who has endured a torrid time thus far in the Premier League.
Bluesa boss Jos Mourinho is seemingly willing to part ways with the Colombian, who reportedly has a lot of top European sides interested in his signature a including Juventus and Inter Milan. It now appears that Atl tico Madrid have joined that race.
According to Spanish daily AS, Diego Simeone is considering Juan Cuadrado as an option to replace Arda Turan, with the Colombian accustomed to playing on the right side of midfield for both club and country. It is the position Turan generally occupied under Simeone, and Cuadrado would thus be a like-for-like replacement.
It is unlikely, however, that Chelsea FC will consider selling the Colombian without having first secured an attacking midfield replacement. Until very recently, it appeared as though they had done just that, with several reports claiming that the Blues had won the race for Arda Turana s signature.
That particular transfer tale has seen another twist however, with Barcelona-based newspaper Sport claiming that the Catalan giants have agreed a deal worth a 35m plus add-ons for the Turkish international, with another Catalan media outlet a Cataluyna radio a also claiming that Turan is set to become Barcelonaa s second signing of the summer.

The transfer would come as a surprise not just because of Barcelonaa s transfer embargo that precludes the treble winners from registering players until January 2016, but also because Chelsea FC appear to have more bargaining power as far as this deal is concerned a relatively speaking a than Barcelona.
Atl tico Madrid have openly stated their desire to take left-back Filipe Lu s back to the Spanish capital, and are now seemingly interested in Cuadrado, giving Chelsea FC two important bargaining chips in any move for Arda Turan. The Premier League champions can also, of course, play Turan from the start of the season and will be able to offer the Turkey captain the opportunity to re-join some of his ex-teammates from Atl ti.
.
To make matters murkier, Turana s agent Ahmet Bulut is keeping his cards very close to his chest, and has come out and rubbished reports of a deal being done with Barcelona. He is quoted by Turkish media outlet NTV Spor as saying, a I have not spoken with anyone from Barcelona, these newspaper stories are just rumours.a
A final decision regarding his clienta s future is expected in the coming days, however, so Chelsea FC and Barcelona fans will not have to wait much longer to find out which team Turan will be playing for next season.
