Arteta faces the wrath of Arsenal FC fans on Twitter for nightmare performance; Coquelin injury a worry [Tweets]

Arsenal FC fans were incandescent with rage over the performance of captain Mikel Arteta against West Brom on Saturday, while supporters also expressed their worry after Francis Coquelin was forced off with an injury

With ArsA?ne Wenger’s side ravaged by injuries, the last thing he would have wanted was one of his key players getting injured. Unfortunately for Gunners fans, that is precisely what happened. Defensive midfielder Francis Coquelin was replaced by Mikel Arteta in the 14th minute of the match after picking up a muscle injury, with Wenger later revealing that his injury was ‘more severe’ than the Spaniard’s.

However, the former Everton midfielder had an afternoon to forget, conceding the free-kick that led to West Brom’s equaliser, scoring an own goal to put Tony Pulis’ men in the lead, before being substituted himself just after half time with a calf injury.

Arsenal FC fans furious with Arteta, worried about Coquelin

The Gunners’ supporters were understandably angry with the performance of their captain, and took to Twitter to vent their frustration. Much of that was probably fuelled by the worry caused by the Coquelin injury — the French midfielder is crucial to Arsenal FC and another injury in the midfield positions is the last thing Wenger’s side needed.

Arteta literally can’t play for more than 30 minutes without getting injured. Ridiculous. Miles of being fit enough for a footballer

It has reached a point where Flamini is now better than Arteta. That’s how bad it is lads.

Mikel Arteta is a joke of a player now. Cost both goals and lasted 30 minutes.
