Sporting Lisbon midfielder William Carvalho, who is a target of Arsenal since long, has said that he would be keen on a move to England in January but is happy to stay and wait for any developments.

Arsenal are being linked with a move for William Carvalho as coach Arsene Wenger is keen to sign a box-to-box midfielder since long. Arsenal are planning to make a move for William Carvalho this month and this a come and get mea plea by the player himself has put the management of Gunners on red alert.

William Carvalho, a Portuguese international, first caught the attention of Arsene Wenger during the World Cup in Brazil and the French coach is scouting him ever since. Arsenal even tried to sign him in the summer transfer window for 25 millions but they failed in their pursuit of the player.

But the Gunners have rekindled their interest in William Carvalho now and they are certain to make a move for him this month. And now, the comments of the player himself have added more weightage to the rumours surrounding the future of William Carvalho at Arsenal.

“My dream is to play in England,” he told Record. “I know some clubs are interested, but my agent, Jorge, is looking after it and I am relaxed.

“Now my mission is to work for Sporting and they will be in charge of any transfer and my future. That is very important.”

William Carvalho, 22, is arguably the best player of Sporting Lisbon this season as he has helped them remain at third position in the Portuguese top flight so far, 10 points behind league leaders Benfica.

Meanwhile, Arsenal have sent striker Yaya Sanogo out on loan to Crystal Palace. Sanogo had struggled to get a regular playing time under Arsene Wenger at Arsenal and had asked for a transfer to another club.

a When the Arsenal manager spoke with me about Crystal Palace I was very happy because I want to play more games,a Sanogo said. a I think Palace are a good team, I watched the game against Tottenham and it was a great performance from the guys. I hope I can help the club have a successful second half of the season.a

The 21-year-old Yaya Sanogo moves to Selhurst Park having made only six appearances for Arsene Wengera s Arsenal this season.
