Arsenal FC are ready to splash the cash on a new striker, with Karim Benzema at the top of their wish-list. However, if their pursuit of the Frenchman fails, The Gunners would look to sign Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski.
Arsenal FC‘s pursuit of the Frenchman has been well documented over the weeks, however, earlier this week, reputed Spanish journalist Kike Marin had said that, should the Gunners fail in their attempts to sign Benzema, they would turn their attentions to a ‘top secret’ striker, which he earlier today revealed to be Bayern Munich‘s Robert Lewandowski.
Karim Benzema or Robert Lewandowski for Arsenal FC
Arsenal FC are probably a World Class striker short of mounting a serious title challenge, having already secured the services of veteran goal-keeper Petr Cech from Chelsea FC. The Gunners have had a bid rejected in the region of A?31.3 million for the Real Madrid striker according to reports.

Are Arsenal FC a striker away from a serious title challenge?
However, with Real Madrid reluctant to let their star striker leave, without adequate replacement in place, El Confidencial’s Kike Marin has said that a ‘top secret’ striker has been lined up as a back-up, which was revealed to be Robert Lewandowski. Arsene Wenger is believed to be a huge admirer of both the striker’s, however Arsenal FC prefer Karim Benezema for his telepathic understanding with flamboyant midfielder Mesut Ozil, since their Real Madrid days.
The Polish striker is believed to be rated at A?44.7 million, and earlier the former Borussia Dortmund striker’s agent had revealed that if the striker leaves the Allianz Arena it would be for the Premier League. The 26-year-old is also reportedly a transfer target of big spending English giants Manchester United.
Arsene Wenger has maintained that his squad is well prepared for the next season, and all they need to work on now is squad cohesion, while also reiterating that if there is a World Class player available in the market, that would take the team to the next level, he would be interested.
