Arsenal FC – West Ham United Confirm Interest In Jenkinson

West Ham United co-chairman David Gold has confirmed that they are pushing hard to re-sign Carl Jenkinson from Arsenal FC.

.

Carl Jenkinson was relatively an unknown name before he signed for Arsenal in 2011, and for the 23-year-old it was dream come true, as he got the chance to play for a club he has supported since his childhood. The right back received limited chances in the first team in his first three seasons at the club, and his performances were fairly inconsistent as well.

Following the arrival of Calum Chambers and Mathieu Debuchy, Jenkinson fell down the pecking order at the club. He was sent out on loan to West Ham United at the start of the last season, where he made 32 appearances.

Jenkinson has now returned to the Emirates, but the Englishman now also faces competition from Hector Bellerin, who had a breakthrough season at the club last season. Jenkinsona s chances of getting regular first team action looks bleak at the moment and it would perhaps be for his best to send him back on loan to West Ham.

The Hammers are keen to re-sign Jenkinson, who had an impressive season last time around. West Ham co-chairman David Gold has confirmed that the club is working hard to get the deal done as he looks to retain their best players.

“We are very working hard to try and get Carl back here

“We recognise this is an important season for us, being in Europe, and we will go the extra mile to ensure we have got the strongest possible squad we can muster.” a David Gold said.

West Ham are looking to sign Jenkinson permanently, but Arsenal are not too keen to sell the right back. Arsene Wenger believes Jenkinson still has a future at the club, and is only interested in a loan deal. Reports suggest that the Gunners are demanding a loan fee of A?2 million, which is more than they paid to sign him from Charlton Athletic. West Ham are trying to negotiate a lower price.
