Lukas Podolski says he will probably return to Arsenal and play out the final season of his contract with the Gunners.

Lukas Podolski spent most of his time at Arsenal warming the bench before making a move to Inter Milan on loan in January. The Italian club did not make the German a permanent signing and it looks likely that the forward will return to London. The 30-year old also denied interest from Bundesliga club, Werder Bremen.

“There’s bound to be speculation in the coming weeks, but at the moment it looks like I will be going back to London,” Podolski told SkySports.

“Things can always change, but if needs be I will remain at Arsenal next season. They are a great club and I think I can help them. I can confirm there has been no interest from Werder Bremen.”

Podolskia s short stint in Italy turned out to be a massive disaster as the winger managed to score only one goal for Inter Milan. However, aged 30, Podolski is still keen on playing many more years and believes his career is far from over.

“You can take experience from everywhere you play abroad, even if it was not my best year from a sporting perspective,” added the World Cup winner.

.

“But I still have many years ahead of me and a burning desire to play football.”

Germany international, Lukas Podolski, has always been a great asset for his national side. However, he has failed to live up to expectations after joining Arsenal. A return to the North London club may not be a good thing for the German. With the Gunners well stocked on the wings with the presence of Alexis Sanchez, who has had a stellar debut campaign with the club, Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, it is highly unlikely that Podolski will get much playing time at Arsenal.
