Chelsea goal keeper Petr Cech has lost his place in the starting XI to Thiabut Courtois this season and he has already stated on record that he wants to leave the club in summer. Arsenal are in the market for a world class goal keeper since long and they are ready to move for the player in July, provided they receive a confirmation from Chelsea that they are willing to listen to an offer from the Gunners.
Petr Cech is at Chelsea since 2004 and until last year, he was a regular starter for the Blues. Petr Cech has won three Premier League titles, four FA Cups, the Champions League and three League Cups in last one decade with Chelsea but he has now lost his place in the starting XI to Thiabut Courtois.
Because of the emergance of Thiabut Courtois, Petr Cech has made only 4 appearance for Chelsea this season and the 32 year has stated that he is keen to leave the club in order to get regular football.
‘I don’t know what the club’s idea will be. It looks like it works well with me and Thibaut Courtois as a duo,’ Petr Cech said last month. ‘But that can work for one season only. I don’t want another one like this.’
‘There always will be speculation, I leave it for the summer. It will be important to sit down with the club, with the manager, to consider all the pros and cons. We will see what will work out the best.’
Goal keeping has always been the pain area of Arsenal and Arsene Wenger is keen to sign a top quality stopper in the summer. The Frenchman is an admirer of Petr Cecha s work ethic and he has asked the Arsenal management to sign him.
But, considering the rivalry between Arsenal and Chelsea, the Gunners fear that Blues will not sale the player to them. To avoid the future problems, Arsenal have already enquired about Petr Cech to Chelsea and if they get the confirmation, Gunners are certain to move for the player in July.
Meanwhile, reports coming from England have also confirmed the development surrounding the future of Petr Cech.
Daily Mail has claimed today that Arsenal are awaiting clarification regarding Petr Cech’s future before moving for the Chelsea goalkeeper. The Czech Republic international is set to leave Stamford Bridge this summer, with the club now prepared to part with the keeper – but only for A?10million or above.
