Alexandre Lacazette-One For The Future

A transfer boost for Arsenal while a setback for Liverpool as Lyon star Alexandre Lacazette declares he will only move to a Champions League club.

Ligue 1 top scorer, Alexandre Lacazette has been linked with a move away from Lyon. The forward has been linked with Premier League clubs like Arsenal and Liverpool. However, the player has gone on to declare that his next move depends on the destination and it will have to be a club that plays Champions League football.

When asked about his suitors and a potential move away from Lyon, . he told Le Parisien: “Everything depends on the destination. It would have to be for a Champions League club. Barcelona and Real Madrid – you don’t reject them.

“I could stay at Lyon next season and have a terrible season, I could leave and have an incredible season.

“But today, between leaving and staying, it is not 50-50 – it is zero. I am not thinking about it. I am going to enjoy the national team and I will think about it after.”

The 24-year old might have made it clear that he wona t refuse a move to Real Madrid or Barcelona but it is unlikely that either club will be interested in signing the striker. It is believed that Arsenal and Liverpool are interested in signing the Frenchman but his comments close the lid on a move to the Merseyside club. However, Arsenala s regular qualification to the Champions League may tempt Lacazette to make a move to the North-London club.

It was previously declared by the Lyon president that it will take more than a 50 million to sign the forward. Such a huge fee will probably discourage Wenger into making a move for the striker. However, if Wenger decides to make only one signing this summer, he might be inclined to sign Lacazette in a mega-money move.
