Liverpool FC have been given a shot in the arm with Daniel Sturridge marking his second appearance post surgery with a brace. Just like strikers hunt in pairs, the Kop have another good news waiting for them in Alberto Moreno.

The rumour mill had gone into overdrive during the summer when Liverpool FC manager Brendan Rodgers had decided to start the young summer signing Joe Gomez as left back at the expense of last yeara s summer signing, Alberto Moreno.

Moreno, who was signed from Sevilla for A?12million, had a difficult first season at Liverpool but after he was dropped from the lineup, rumours surfaced that Moreno was looking to return to his homeland and Real Madrid were happy to oblige.

Moreno, though, had other ideas and was determined to prove his worth in Liverpool. When Brendan Rodgers picked him for the Europa League match against FC Girondins de Bordeaux, Moreno grabbed the chance with both hands. Moreno explained in an interview to . Liverpool Echo, that he did what was required of him.

a What youa ve got to do is keep working, get your head down in training and work really hard so youa re ready when you get the chance.

a The manager thought it was the right time to put me in against Bordeaux and I grabbed my chance.

a I think Ia ve done reasonably well since then. Ia ve had three more games and I think Ia ve played well, but obviously Ia m still a young player and I know I can still continue to improve.

a I hope Ia m giving the fans something to cheer about with my play and hopefully Ia ll continue to impress them with my performances.a

When pressed for further information regarding the rumours that surfaced during the summer transfer window, Moreno said he felt quite settled.

a I couldna t feel more settled

a Ia m really happy, not just myself, but my family. We love the club and the citya

Moreno added that he is delighted with his impending 50th appearance for the Merseysiders but isna t satisfied, a When my 50th game happens, Ia ll be so pleased. To have my name among the illustrious players that have played for this club, to have featured in 50 games in just over a year, Ia m really happy.

a But Ia m not going to settle for that, I dona t want to take that as an achievement, I want to be playing more and more games. I want to be here for many more years and play as many games as I can.a
