To have any realistic chance of qualifying for the Champions League next season, AC Milan are ready to splash the cash and they are preparing the bids for Roma striker Mattia Destro and PSG midfielder Thiago Motta.
AC Milan are currently struggling in the Serie A as they are languishing in the 7 spot in the points table. Adriano Galliani and Barbara Berlusconi are under pressure to spend in January and it appears that Mattia Destro and Thiaggo Motta are attracting the interest of Rossoneri management.
AC Milan have secured just 25 points from their first 16 games in Serie A and immediate improvements are necessary if they want to have any realistic chance of qualifying for the Champions League next season.
There is a dearth of quality in all departments of this AC Milan squad and coach Pippo Inzaghi has asked CEO Adriano Galliani to sign at least three or four more players in the winter transfer window.
Meanwhile, reports coming from Italy have claimed today that AC Milan are preparing the bids for Mattia Destro and Thiago Motta. Corriero dello Sport has stated in its report that Mattia Destro has found himself down in Rudi Garciaa s pecking order this season and has only started seven Serie Agames this season, scoring four goals. AC Milan have parted company with Fernando Torres, who is off to Atletico Madrid on loan, and as such are believed to want a striker this January.
AC Milan has sent Fernando Torres out on loan to Atletico Madrid and coach Pippo Inzaghi is now looking for a striker to replace the Spaniard.
Mattia Destro is frustrated at AS Roma as he is behind the likes of Totti and Gervinho in the pecking order for coach Rudi Garcia. AC Milan are aware of the current situation of Mattia Destro and the club believes that an offer of 20 million euros would get them their man.
AC Milan also want a quality midfielder and Thiago Motta of PSG has caught the attention of coach Pippo Inzaghi.
The contract of Nigel de Jong with AC Milan is set to expire in June of this year and no progress has been made over the extension of the same yet. AC Milan have already started looking for the replacement of De Jong and coach Pippo Inzaghi thinks that Thiago Motta would be the ideal replacement of the Dutchman.
Meanwhile, the agent of Thiago Motta has confirmed that he has opened the talks with AC Milan over a possible transfer. Thiago Mottaa s agent is quoted as saying “I received many phone calls, including from his former Coaches. AC Milan are particularly receptive, especially considering their own doubts over the future of Nigel de Jong. I won’t say there is something concrete in this, but there is certainly a lot of interest.”
