Tottenham Hotspur has slapped aAi??A?20 Million price tag on midfield powerhouse Sandro, who is a prime target of Italian Serie A side Napoli.
English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur has a plethora of midfield options available at their disposal. New manager Mauricio Pochettino will have apprehensions about the type of players he has at his disposal in defence and attack, wingers are also an area of concern. But when to comes to central midfield the new incumbent is blessed with the problem of plenty.
The arrival of Paulinho and Etienne Capoue last summer to an existing array of Moussa Dembele, Sandro, Lewis Holtby gave new dimensions to Tottenham midfield. A number of promising youngsters are also in the competition for places in midfield in which Nabil Bentaleb and Tom Carroll are the prominent characters. The sales of Scott Parker, Tom Huddlestone and Jake Livermore has opened up spaces in midfield, but Tottenham still possess ample options in the middle of the park. The likes of Christian Eriksen, Nacer Chadli and Gylfi Sigurdsson has also played in that role, which increases the competition for places.
Sandro’s impressive career was halted by an injury in the last 18 months. A fan favouite at Tottenham, nicknamed as The Beast, the Brazilian was one of the first names in the team sheet in 2012-13 season. During the tenure of Tim Sherwood, Sandro has found it difficult to make it to the bench, which prompted inquiries from clubs across Europe.
Earlier,Ai??Tottenham and Napoli were involved in talks over Brazil International Sandro. Even though some reports said that Sandro has agreed on a move to Napoli,Ai??nothing happened since then and Sandro returned to Tottenham for pre-season training. Coppa Italia champions Napoli are still keen on a defensive midfielder, with Sandro top of their priority list containing Liverpool’s Lucas Leiva and Southampton’s Morgan Schneiderlin.
