Despite his previous experience and track record, Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers feels Louis van Gaal might be surprised by the competitiveness of the Premier League, something he feels the Dutchman hasnai??i??t experienced in other leagues.
Louis van Gaalai??i??s arrival at Manchester United has renewed hopes among the supporters, especially after his recent exploits with the Dutch national team in the World Cup. The Red Devils struggled to under David Moyes last season as they finished seventh in the league. But in van Gaal, United have someone who can come close to filling up the massive void left by Sir Alex Ferguson.
Van Gaal comes in with an impressive resume of managing clubs like Ajax, Barcelona and Bayern Munich. The 62-year-old has won six league titles in three different nations, along with the 1994-95 Champions League with Ajax. But despite such track record Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers feels that the Premier Leagueai??i??s competitiveness will take van Gaal by surprise.
“I think what he’ll find is the competition in this league will be differentAi??to any other league that he’s worked in,” he said.
“In a lot of the other leagues, there are one or two teams and those are theAi??teams that are expected to win
“This is a league where the top team plays the bottom team and on any givenAi??day you can lose. You don’t get that a lot in the other leagues. Rodgers did express his admiration for van Gaal though, and insisted he is an admirer of his work as a manager.
“I’ve obviously been an admirer of his work and his career.
