Italian Journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Tottenham’s Erik Lamela might be on the list to replace injured Lorenzo Insigne. The Italian has also namedAi??Andre Ayew, Davy Klaassen and Ivan Perisic as possible targets the Partenopei are looking at, but Erik Lamela stands out as Napoli’s De Laurentiis has been a fan of the former AS Roma man.
Although Napoli are not rushing to sign in a new player, as they believe that they have plenty of player in their attacking pecking order, the Neopolitans might plan Lamela’s move in the Summer transfer window.
Napoli now rely on Swansea’s loanee Miguel Michu and another player who has plied his trade for Swansea, Jonthan de Guzman. Meanwhile Erik Lamela, who was signed by Tottenham at the time of Andres Villas Boas might find it easier to get back to Italy, as the Argentine has not impressed so far in England.
Carrying a hefty price tag, fans had expectations from Lamela, which the Argentine failed to deliver upon. Erik Lamela plays as a winger and can also ply his trade as an attacking midfielder. The 22 year old is known for his exceptional dribbling qualities along with his quick feet and pace. The Argentine is strangely nicknamed ‘Coco’.
The injury to Lorenzo Insigne has also cast doubt on his move to Arsenal. The young Italian was linked to Arsenal, ever since he impressed scouts all over the world. But, an injury which is likely to sideline Insigne for the rest of the season, might allow Arsenal to blow out.
Although if Insigne makes an impressive comeback then a move to Arsenal might just be on the cards, but it is highly highly unlikely at this point of time.
