Samuel Etoai??i??o has reignited his war of words with Jose Mourinho, branding the Chelsea manager a ai???puppetai???, weeks after calling him “a fool”
The Chelsea manager had made demeaning remarks about his strikers and even suggested that Eto’o might be older than he claims to be at a sponsors’ event in Switzerland in February. Mourinho had said, “The problem is I like a scorer. I have Etoai??i??o but he is 32, maybe 35, who knows?”
Since then, the Cameroon striker had bashed the Chelsea manager twice (including this instance). About a week ago, Eto’o was quoted as taking digs at Jose Mourinho. He hadAi??said:
“Today, I am 33 years old – and it is not because a fool called me an old man that you must believe it.Ai??And you may have noticed that the old man was better than the youngsters. Some believe I am going to retire in the United States or in the Middle East, but I have regained the joy of the Champions League and I am going to carry on playing in the Champions League.Ai??Where? I am not going to tell you.”
Just one week later, the four time African Player of the Year has launch his attacks again and has called Mourinho a ‘puppet’. He reiterated his desire to play at the top level, brushing away rumors that he wanted an easy way for the remainder of his career, and maintained that he wanted to play at the highest competitive level.
“Contrary to what a puppet says about my age, I am still physically fit. At 33, I feel really good. I have proven that I can do better than the younger players.Ai??And I wish to also say that I am not going to the United States or to the Middle East. I will continue at the top level. I will continue to play the Champions League. My romance with this competition is far from over.
“I will not tell you where, but I will be at the top level. I am 33 and I have two World Cups to play. There are other players who went on until the age of 41 so there is no reason why I cannot continue”, said the striker
Eto’o is going to feature at his fourth World Cup for Cameroon in the upcoming edition of the tournament next month and the former Inter Milan player suggested that he could play the next two World Cups as well
“I am going to carry on playing because physically and mentally I feel great”
“So I am going to go to this World Cup and to the next one when I will be 37. Some did it at 42, so I can still play at two more World Cups.”
