French midfielder Samir Nasri has signed a new five-year contract with Manchester City, insisting he feels very much at home at the English club.
Samir Nasri enjoyed his best season at Manchester City last season since joining the club from Arsenal in 2011. The arrival of Manuel Pellegrini has brought the best out of him and the Frenchman has now committed his long-term future to the club by signing as new five-tear deal.
The 27-year-old required a lot of time to settle down since his move to Manchester City as he initially failed to reproduce his performances in an Arsenal shirt, which made him one of the most coveted attacking midfielder back then. But the arrival of Manuel Pellegrini at the club last season seemed to have acted as a catalyst and brought the best out of Nasri.
The former Marseille star scored seven goals and produced seven assists in 29 starts in the league. The numbers are not too impressive on their own, but Nasri was one of the most consistent performers for Man City last season as they went on to win the Premier League.
Nasri, who was surprisingly ignored by France manager Didier Deschamps for his World Cup squad, seemed to have recovered from that disappointment as he looks towards another trophy laden season with the Citizens.
Nasri expressed his delight at having committed his future to Manchester City at the peak of his footballing career and stressed on the fact that he is finally enjoying his football and life in the city.
