Sami Khedira insists he wants to extend his stay at Real Madrid amidst rumours of a possible transfer to Arsenal and Bayern Munich.
Sami Khedira, whose Real Madrid contract expires at the end of the season, has told German daily Stuttgarter Nachrichten that he would like to extend his stay at the club beyond the current season.
“If we can reach a solution, I’ll be very happy,” he said in quotes translated by AS.
Sami Khedira has been plagued with injuries for a while now. The midfielder suffered an anterior cruciate ligament tear in November 2013 and returned in time to win the Champions League and then the World Cup, only to suffer another setback in August. Khediraai??i??s fitness issues have led to the German losing his spot in the Real Madrid first team and also hampered his chances of being rewarded with a contract extension.
However, the midfielder has recovered from his injuries and is confident of winning his place back in Ancelottiai??i??s starting line-up.

Sami Khedira has the monumental task of dislodging his national teammate Toni Kroos from the starting line-up to regain his place. The German midfielder is Khediraai??i??s biggest competitor in the Real Madrid squad and Khedira insists he loves the competition and was full of praise for the former Bayern Munich player.
“He is doing extraordinarily well,” he said. “He has only been at the club for less than half a year and he is already a key component in how the team functions.”
The 27-year old has been linked with a move away from Real Madrid for a long time now. But recently both Ancelotti and Khedira have insisted that the World Cup winnerai??i??s future lies with Real Madrid. Khedira has been incessantly linked with Arsenal and Bayern Munich.
However, it now seems like Khedira will not leave Real Madrid and he also hinted at the possibility of returning to his boyhood club Vfb Stuttgart before he retires.
“I’ll always carry VfB in my heart,” he said. “I know that they’ve been having a few problems but, in life and in football, sometimes you cannot say no to certain things. Why would I close the door if such an opportunity arose?”
