Jose Mourinho took to criticizing Chelseaai??i??s young star Eden Hazard after reports emerged of a growing dissent, prompting suggestions that the Belgian could be on his way out of Stamford Bridge.
The Special One has come under severe criticism for his style of football and Eden Hazard added to the fire by suggesting that he was not pleased with Mourinhoai??i??s style of football. Speaking after the 3-1 loss against Atletico Madrid at Stamford Bridge, Hazard suggested his disappointment with Chelseaai??i??s playing style.
“Chelsea aren’t set up to play football. Chelsea are set up to counter-attack- a little bit like Real against Bayern. I don’t know what we lacked. After scoring, we had the game in our hands. Maybe they wanted it more than we did.”
However his comments did not go down well with Jose Mourinho, who criticised the midfielder quite sharply, sparking suggestions that he could well be on his way out of Stamford Bridge this summer.
The manager blamed Hazard for Atleticoai??i??s equalizer at Stamford Bridge, drawing comparisons with Willian and Schurrle, who Mourinho believes give their 100% in every game.
“Normally you get this kind of comment from players like him: from players who can’t resolve a problem like we had with the first goal. Against Atletico in Madrid, Willian played on the left side and Ashley Cole was protected all game. Against Liverpool, Schurrle played on the left and a dangerous player like Glen Johnson was completely under control.”
Mourinho suggested that Hazard was not ready to give his hundred percent, saying that the Belgian was not someone to ai???lay down his life for teamai??i??, hence doubting his commitment to the team.
“Eden is the kind of player who is not so mentally ready to look back at his left-back and lay down his life for him. If you see Atletico’s first goal, you understand where the mistake was and why we conceded that goal. When the comments come from a player like Eden, it’s normal. He’s not the kind of player who is ready to sacrifice himself 100 per cent for the team and his mates. But at the same time, the comments were not critical. I’m not happy when a player doesn’t sacrifice himself and I’ve spoken all season and I’ve tried to improve him.”
These comments have sparked off suggestions that the midfielder could well be on his way out of Stamford Bridge as Chelsea prepare to bring in new players in what could be turn out to be a massive clearance. It is no secret that Chelsea are looking to finance a move for a striker this summer and hence, keeping in mind the Financial Fair Play rules, could have to sacrifice some of their key players this summer.
Accroding to reports, Eden Hazard and David Luiz are high on the list to leave Chelsea this summer, along with other strikers and midfielder Oscar. Mourinho hasnai??i??t hidden his disappointment with Hazard and the open war of words between the two men could result in Hazard leaving Stamford Bridge. David Luiz too is being speculated to leave the London side and is reportedly being targeted by Barcelona and Bayern Munich.
Barcelona are in urgent need of strengthening their defense and Luiz seems to fit the style of play practiced at Camp Nou. He will be a major boost for the Catalans who have had to make-do with a make-shift defense towards the last quarter of the current season.
It now remains to be seen if Chelsea do actually lose Eden Hazard, who was recently voted as the Young Player of the Year in England. One of the brightest talents in Europe right now, Hazard is on the ai???wanted listai??i?? by almost every big European club. Once touted as the future of Chelsea, the winger, who was supposed to lead the club could be on his way to premature exit this summer.
