Former Cameroon International and Mohun Bagan’ s marquee playerAi??Pierre Boya will be arriving in Kolkata tomorrow (6th August). The AIFF hasAi??made it mandatory for all I-League clubs to sign a a marquee player.
Pierre Boya, Mohun Baganai??i??s Marquee player for the current season (2014-2015) will be arriving in Kolkata on 6th August. He will undergo a medical test and join their pre-season camp. Boya who plays as a striker, is a former Cameroon international and has played at the highest level in Europe with experience in UEFA Champion’s league and UEFA Europa league. He has also represented Cameroon in the African Cup of Nations in 2006. He is managed by Cameroon Football Agency, a soccer playersai??i?? agency based in San Diego (USA) with branches in Paris-France, Moscow-Russia, Yaounde-Cameroon and with affiliate associate partners in Italy, Germany, Lebanon through ADVANCED SOCCER ACADEMY (ASA) managed by RAED SADDIK, Spain, Portugal and United Kingdom.
Louis Bayimina, Pierre Boyaai??i??s agent, announced that his agency would like to work in partnership with all Indian football clubs to supply them with marquee players, good foreign players and top UEFA pro coaches of all nature. Following this he said in the near future, some others players such as the Beninese national team striker, Christian Kotchoni, who is 1.95M tall; the attacking Midfielder Somen A Tchoyi, who is a former the former Cameroon international and has experience in the English Premiere League; or the top Italian striker who played for Juventus in the Italian Serie A, Vicenzo Iaquinta and also won the World Cup with Italy in 2006 could join some Indian clubs for 2014-2015 football season. Cameroon Football Agency manages around 300 players and coaches. The Lebanese partners of the Cameroon Football Agency, Advanced Soccer Academy (ASA) are also no strangers to Indian football. ASAai??i??s players Bilal Najjarine and Akram Moghrabi , both Lebanese internationals, won the I-League in 2012-13 season with Churchill Brothers. Another player from ASA, Egyptian, Abdelhamid Shabana, won the Federation Cup in 2013-14 season for Churchill Brothers. Under technical director Subhash Bhowmick, Mohun Bagan are already training for their first Kolkata Football League match and the club has strengthened its squad considerably with the additions of Balwant Singh, Jeje, LalKamal Bhowmick, Sony Norde in addition to Boya.Ai??Mohun Bagan signed Boya as a likely replacement for the talismanic Nigerian, Odafa Okolie, who struggled with both form and fitness in 2013-14 season, scoring just 6 goals in the 12 I-league matches that he featured. The fans will expect Boya to score and it remains to be seen how he copes up with the Indian conditions specially the hot and humid conditions in Kolkata.
