Juventus coach Messimiliano Allegri has insisted that Manchester United target Arturo Vidal is happy to remain in Turin after returning for pre-season training.
Juventus chief executive Beppe Marotta has stated on Monday thatAi??Arturo Vidal would only be sold if he expresses a desire to leave TurinAi??butAi??the player himself had clarified last week that he is not going to Old Trafford.
However, reports coming from Italy had claimed yesterday that Vidal met with his agent and senior officials on Sunday evening to discuss the possibility of a move to Manchester UnitedAi??but Allegri has ruled out a transfer following a training session on Tuesday.
“Arturo is staying,” Allegri told reporters. “He is very happy to remain here, like all of his team-mates.
“I have also spoken with him to check his physical condition. We are very happy that he’s staying with us; he’s fundamental for us.”
Manchester United have been linked with a move for Arturo Vidal throughout the summer but it now appears that they will have to turn their attention elsewhere.
Manchester United have already signed Ander Herrera from Athletic Bilbao but new manager Louis van Gaal is looking for one more quality midfielder.
It has been speculated in Italian media that the new coach could have problems with Andrea Pirlo. However, Allegri has claimed that there is no trouble with Pirlo and his players are united in their desire to win the Champions League.
“We spoke 10 days ago,” Allegri said “We are professionals.
“There’s a mutual respect between us and we have a common goal in wanting to have a great Champions League campaign. Europe has a particular fascination for us.”
Allegri was sacked by AC Milan in January and he will return to San Siro in the early stages of Serie A this season. However, the newly appointed boss insists that he has no fears about going back to the iconic stadium.
“It will be a special evening for us and I will have many emotions. But now, for me, the Rossoneri are only another opponent.”
Luke Shaw Is Not Fit Enough: Van Gaal
Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has said that Luke Shaw is currently “not fit” enough to do what he demands of him.
Manchester United are currently on a US tour and Louis van Gaal has devised a special program for Shaw to reach the levels required.
Van Gaal speaking in a press conference ahead of Manchester Unitedai??i??s game against Inter Milan tonight. He said: “He is OK, but I am always a trainer-coach who sees individuals and what they need. He needs to be fit and is not very fit and fit enough to do what I want. He needs to train individually until he is fit.”
