Manchester United boss David Moyes has confessed that he is happy with the business and will not bring in any more players before the end of the transfer window, the boss is also delighted with immediate impact of record signing Juan Mata.
The Scot was speaking at the press conference on Friday lunchtime, ahead of Saturdayai??i??s meeting with Stoke City.
David Moyes also said that he is satisfied with the major piece of transfer business that the club did this month.
“There’s no disappointment [that there will be no more transfers]. I said at the start that we wouldnai??i??t do much business in January. There’s no one reason for that.”
Of the arrival of Mata from Chelsea, Moyes added: “He’s everything I thought he was. He’s a terrific footballer, a good lad to work with and heai??i??s settled in quickly. He played well in the game, which was important because we wanted him to make a difference straight away. Ai??I’m wary that we need to give him time to settle in and not expect too much too soon, but I was impressed with his first game.”
United youngster Wilfried Zaha has joined Cardiff City on loan until the end of the season and Moyes feels will help the winger realise his potential with its prospect of more regular game time.
“We felt Cardiff was the right choice for him. Hopefully he will go and get those games, show what he can do in the Premier League and be ready to come back to us at the end of the season,”Ai??the manager said.
Jonny Evans has stressed that victory over Cardiff City is not another false dawn in Manchester Unitedai??i??s Premier League season.
Juan Mata made positive start to his United career while Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney had successful return from injury against the Bluebirds.
Evans feels that a win against Cardiff has created a positive atmosphere within dressing room and team must bank on it with string of strong displays, starting at Stoke on Saturday.
When asked if the Cardiff win felt like a new start for United, the defender toldAi??said: “We have said this before after we have won games.
“We can’t keep saying every time we get a win that it is going to kick-start our season. We will only be able to do that in maybe five games’ time.
“We need to make sure, especially at home, that we keep performing like that.”
Evans believes the addition of Mata, van Persie and Rooney to David Moyesai??i?? options can only be a positive for the squad as a whole.
“You want to get as many good players on the pitch as you can, and it increases competition for places,” the 26-year-old said. “Wayne Rooney coming on also made a massive difference to the crowd.
“There is not much difference in quality between the squad players. In the past, the manager has always been able to rotate the squad and it has always had an impact.”
