Manchester City are plotting a January swoop for Juventus defender, Stephen Lichtsteiner, according to the Manchester Evening News.Ai??The 30 year old has been added to the list of targets which City would look to acquire in January. Stephen Lichtsteiner, meanwhile runs out of contract next summer and with Juventus playing coy, he could look to secure his future in a different country.
Boasting a broad framework, Stephen Lichtsteiner is known for his tireless engine like running which has given birth to nicknames such as Forrest Gump and The Swiss Express. The attacking right back is known for his scintillating attacking runs which pose a direct threat to the opposing team. Ever since his transfer from Lazio to Juventus, Stephen has been one of Serie A’s most consistent right backs. Defensively solid with an ability to red games, Lichtsteiner is one of the few players which come of attacking prowess mixed with tactical genius.
His crossing and ball-playing ability came to the fore in Conte’s 3-5-2 formation. As a result, he finished the season as Juve’s top assist-maker in the league with eight.His runs and athleticism has also earned him the nickname “The Swiss Express” since moving to Juventus.
