Manchester City have been linked toAi??A?20m Southampton Striker, Jay Rodriguez. Rodriguez, has been identified by Manuel Pellegrini as a target to rejuvenate and bolster his ailing squad. Pellegrini is keen to sign the 25 year old Englishman and could try gunning for his signature – as early as January.
Jay Rodriguez meanwhile, is currently recovering from aAi??cruiciate knee ligament injury sustained during Saintsai??i?? visit to City last April and has not played all season.
Although Jay Rodriguez has been noted as a stellar performer in Southampton, he was a prolific goalscorer way back with Burnley. The 25 year old who is known for his technical skills alongwith his penchant for off the ball hard work, had won Burnely’s player of the year in 2010.
After moving to Southampton, Rodriguez featured in a squad which showcased high quality football. Although, Rodriguez has not been a part of Southampton’s squad, he enjoyed a brilliant 2013-14 season, wherein he scored 17 goals in 39 appearances.
