Liverpool striker Fabio Borini wants to stay with Liverpool and fight for his future
Liverpool striker Fabio Borini has told manager Brendan Rodgers that he is keen to stay with the club after reports of Sunderland’sAi??Ai??A?14m bid being accepted started doing rounds. Since then, Borini played Liverpool’s pre-season friendly against Preston North End. He has told the Reds manager that he wants to fight for his future at the club. The Italian is currently on tour with the club to USA where the Merseysiders are playing their remaining friendlies.
Borini enjoyed a highly successful loan spell at the Stadium of Light last season and it was thought that the player would be thrilled to join Gus Poyet’s team on a permanent basis. However, reports indicate that the striker would rather fight for a place in Rodgers’ line-up.
However, Sunderland insist that reports claiming this- the fact that Borini has rejected a move to the Stadium of Light- are wide of the mark. Gus Poyet confirmed that the the club was waiting on a decision from the player
