Liverpool are said to be lining up a big-name player to replace Luis Suarez ai???very soonai??i??.
Liverpool have been very busy this transfer window with manager Brendan Rodgers is looking to strengthen the Reds as they start the season with the expectations of rivaling the other teams for the title. The Merseyside club also make their return to the Champions League after five years. Keeping these things in mind, Liverpool would obviously need depth in the squad and Rodgers has been addressing this need since the transfer window began and as a result, the Reds have already signed 7 players.
However, the biggest problem has been the departure of Luis Suarez. WhileAi?? his goals can be replaced through the addition of multiple players like Adam Lallana and Lazar Markovic, his position has still not been filled adequately. The Reds need another striker. Loic Remy’s move to the club collapsed. Fabio Borini’s move to Sunderland is still on the cards which leaves Rodgers only with Daniel Sturridge and Rickie Lambert as his strike options. This is just not good enough, especially since the ex-Chelsea player is so injury prone.
Liverpool have been linked to a lot of players and most recently with Monaco’s Radamel Falcao. It was suggested that the Colombian would be Liverpool’s marquee signing of the summer but reports later claimed that while there had been contact, Monaco told the Reds that the ex-Atletico striker was Real Madrid bound.
This was not pleasing news for the Reds. But fans but they will be excited with South American football correspondent Tim Vickery’s comments which stated that Liverpool are set to make a move for a high-profile name to replace Luis Suarez (but the incoming player is not going to be Monaco’s Radamel Falcao).

Liverpool have also been linked with Edinson Cavani over the past few days after the Uruguayan’s agent revealed he has had contact with Arsenal and Liverpool over the past few months. Replacing Suarez with Cavani would be terrific as the PSG striker certainly possesses all the right attributes to do well at the Merseyside club. The Reds have also been linked with Inter’s Mauro Icardi. While the Argentinian striker is certainly talented and possesses all the potential which he still has to maximize, the Italian club are reportedly demanding a sum in the region of 25 million GBP for his services, a sum Rodgers would be apprehensive to pay and one which will certainly not look justified on paper at present.
Recent reports have linked Liverpool with Lazio yougster Keita Balde Diao. It has been suggested that the Reds are set to beat arch-rivals Manchester United for the Barcelona youth star’s signature. Liverpool have been linked with the 21 year old before as well. After a reported 16m fee for the youngster got turned down, the Reds apparently have been told by Lazio that they can have the player for 24m. Diao has a lot of potential and has been highly rated since his youth days but again, this signing doesn’t look like something Liverpool will benefit from immediately.
