Liverpool have been pretty unlucky with injuries so far and the international break curse has done it again for the Merseysiders with summer signing Lazar Markovic limping off in Serbia’s 1-1 draw against Armenia.Ai??This is the second setback of this international break as Dejan Lovren picked up an abdominal injury while training with Croatia.Ai??Last monthai??i??s international break proved equally costly with Daniel Sturridge, Emre Can and Joe Allen all suffering injuries and all three players are yet to feature for the Reds.
The A?20million winger was taken off after just 25 minutes in Serbia’s Euro 2016 qualifier in Yerevan before going off with a suspected muscle tear.
Reports in Serbia so far, suggest that the player will be on the sidelines for two to three weeks.Ai??However, the length of the time-out is yet to be determined properly as the player will return to England and reunite with his club, after which he will be assessed by Liverpool’s medical staff.
Markovic was brought to Liverpool this summer from Benfica and so far has found life difficult in the English Premier League. He has so far made five appearances for the Reds and has not registered a goal or an assist. The match where he looked the most lively was against Tottenham, where he only made a 29 minute cameo. Not to mention, this is his second injury since his switch from the Portuguese club. The Serbian missed a chunk of pre-season and the start to the season with another injury.
He recently said that he feels great and is still adjusting but asked for more time to show why Liverpool shelled such a price for him.
