Brendan Rodgers’ Liverpool take on Middlesbrough in the Capital One Cup tomorrow and are in desperate need of winning momentum. After losing two back to back Premier League games, the Liverpool boss would be hoping his side can get some confidence and register a comprehensive win over The Boros.
Rodgers acknowledged that his side would need to do better in the coming game which may see the players who haven’t got many chances. Rickie Lambert would see himself making a full debut.
“This will be a game that he starts in. He’s a wonderful player, a great technician and he makes really difficult for defenders.Ai??Hopefully he can get a goal in his first start,” said the Liverpool boss.
“As a team we need to be better. We started poorly at the weekend and you see the results there is no easy game at this level.Ai??You will be tested physically and mentally at this level and you have to be ready to fight that.Ai??We got caught in those first few minutes but we need to better at that because ultimately it costs us.
