The 23 year old has now adjusted to life on the wings, which many regard as his ‘main position’. However, he is more naturally poised as a secondary striker. The 23 year old initially struggled for form, which could also be pinned down upon the lack of first team action he got. However, he has found his feet recently, as he scored a hat-trick away at Fulham and netted during his side’s 6-0 demolishing of Arsenal last month.

Liverpool would want a player like Schurrle- someone who can make those key passes and can also find the back of the net. In the attacking prowess of the Merseyside club, the only void which has to be treated by a makeshift player in all matches, is that left winger spot. Sterling can play on either flanks but is more effective on the right. Coutinho too, is better playing centrally rather that on the left side. Sturridge, if employed on the wing, is better on the right. In any case, both Suarez and Sturridge thrive up front. Therefore the left winger spot should be filled in the summer, with or without the Chelsea man.
Schurrle has all the credentials to be that man for the Anfield outfit. He is young, still has time to reach the peak of his career and has already adjusted to the Premier League style. Chelsea too, should not have much problem sending him away as their entire side is full of attacking midfielders. The addition of Mohamed Salah in the winter means that they would be without a player if they let the German go.
