Liverpool FC are interested in Bayer Leverkusen youngster Julian Brandt.
Brendan Rodgers has been a busy man this summer and has already made seven additions to the side. Javier Manquillo was the most recent to join the club and Alberto Moreno looks near to making a move to the Reds.
Reports now suggest that the Reds are interested in Bayer Leverkusen youngster Julian Brandt.Ai??He is considered to be one the most promising young stars in the Bundesliga and has got plenty of international experience with the German national youth sides.
A product of the Wolfsburg setup, he won the German title with the Wolves U19 team in the 2012/13 season. He then scored six goals and provided eleven assists in 14 league games for the German club in the 2013/14 season before signing for Bayer 04 Leverkusen on 12 December 2013. He signed a professional contract until 2019. The 18 year old represented Bayer 12 times in the league after his winter move and managed to get two goals in the process.Ai??The attacking midfielder has the talent to be among the best in his position, and can also operate in the wings, somethingAi??which has caught the eye of clubs across Europe. At such a young age, he is good enough to be part of the first-team picture.

Despite being so busy this summer, Liverpool still have a few areas they need to strengthen. Alberto Moreno’s arrival would be a great addition for the club as the full-back positions have troubled them in the recent past. However, the main area of concern at the moment remains the strike position. Daniel Sturridge is extremely injury prone and Fabio Borini looks like he is off to Sunderland. That leaves the Reds with only Lambert as a back-up. While Lambert is not a bad option, he has been brought in to offer something different to the Reds- to unlock sides when plan A with Sturridge doesn’t work, with his bulky and physical presence. Divock Origi was loaned back to Lille after his arrival. Two strikers for a side in the Champions League is just not good enough and Rodgers has to focus on an addition here, more than anything. Therefore Brandt would be a great addition, but he is not someone who is required at the moment. Liverpool need to make the addition of a striker, their priority. Moreover, Brandt’s arrival to Merseyside looks even more unlikely becauseAi??the player has five years left on his contract.
