Liverpool and Denmark defender Daniel Agger has refused to rule out a move away from the club while insisting he wants to prove his worth to Brendan Rodgers.
Daniel Agger was largely marginalized for Liverpool’s campaign last season. He started only 16 Premier League games. He was receded to the bench with Mamadou Sakho’s arrival from PSG. The Denmark captain has been wanted by Napoli and Barcelona is the recent past and has now been linked with a return to former club Brondby.
The fan-favorite centre back insisted that he wants to prove to the manager that he is worth being used more regularly. However, he has insisted that being kept on the bench for most parts of last season was ‘not acceptable’ for him.
“It is no secret that I had problems last season and I am considering things,” Agger told Danish newspaper BT.
“How things turned out last season is not acceptable for me.
“I am here now and it is up to me to show the coach that I should play.”
Commenting on the links to former side Brondby, that he left in January 2006 to make the switch to Liverpool, Agger said, “Many things can happen in football and I do not want to exclude anything,”
