According to manager Brendan Rodgers, Ai??Liverpool could still sign Dnipro winger Yevhen Konoplyanka in the summer after a move fell through on transfer deadline day in January. When asked if Liverpool would try again for the Ukrainian, Rodgers said:
“If we feel he can improve us, we are a professional club.
“There will be a greater market to look at then but it wouldn’t stop us.
“It is of no consequence now. I don’t focus on that. There is no point in me looking back.”
“The club did everything possible to get the player in.
“We had our chief scout and managing director and doctor out there to conclude the deal – and from our point of view, categorically [managing director] Ian Ayre did a brilliant job trying to negotiate.
“I’ve heard it mentioned the problem was about the money, but that was not a problem. It just wasn’t to be.
“I feel really sorry for the player because he was obviously desperate to come but it’s gone now and we will review it in the summer.”
According to rumors going around in the media, that Liverpool could still sign the Dnipro winger before the summer due toa breach in contract. According to the report, Konoplyanka’s agent has confirmed that LFC triggered his release clause, Ai??allowing him to agree terms and have a medical. Since Dniproai??i??s owner did not sign the necessary paperwork, Liverpool failed to get the deal done in time.
If Konoplyanka appealed to UEFA claiming breach of contract, it would come down to the authorities to decide on his future. Liverpool would have to prove that they triggered the release clause before the delaine and reached an agreement with the player in order for the FA to approve the out-of-window transfer.
For those asking whether #LFC intend to go down legal route over Konoplyanka, it’s not club’s battle to fight. That would be down to player.

However, Dnipro later came out to quash all suggestions that Dnipro’s billionaire owner Igor Kolomoisky had refused to sign the necessary paperwork. Dnipro’s Executive Director Andriy Rusol claimed this was not the case:
“The president could not keep the midfielder because his contract spelled out the specific amount of compensation.
“In fact, the British did not have time to complete the transaction. Our club could not sign the documents until our account received the money. And they did not receive anything before the deadline.
