The English Football Association has penalized 10,000 Pounds to Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho for his sarcastic comments made against referee Mike Dean and referee’s chief Mike Riley, after their shocking defeat against Sunderland last month. This is the 3rd time in this season that the Portuguese has been fined for his ‘inappropriate behavior’.
Mourinho’s Assistant Rui Faria was sent to stands in the same game for his extra-aggressive behavior towards the referee and was given a six match stadium ban later on. Mourinho was equally unhappy with the outcome of the match as Chelsea’s 78 match unbeaten record was broken by Sunderland and his disappointment was clearly visible from his face but he tried to unleash on the Authorities in an indirect manner. Though these comments are not direct in nature but there was an attempt from his side to bring the game into disrepute, said the association.
An FA statement readAi??Ai??”While the commission did not find that Mourinho’s post-match comments called into question the integrity of the referee appointed to the above fixture and/or the integrity of Mike Riley, general managerAi??of the Professional Game Match Officials Limited, they did find that the comments brought the game into disrepute and the charge for improper conduct was found proven.”
The Chelsea boss had also been penalized last month for running on the pitch when they played against Aston Villa. He was charged with 8,ooo Euros. He had made an appeal against the decision, but it was also rejected by the Independent Regulatory Commission.
“Mourinho denied a breach of FA Rule E3 in that his behavior in re-entering the field of play and approaching the match referee in an attempt to speak to him, in or around the 90th minute of the game, amounted to improper conduct,The charge was found proven by an independent regulatory commission and that decision was upheld by an appeal panel on Thursday”the FA said in the same statement.
