After sacking Jagoba Arrasate, Real Sociedad are close to sign David Moyes for the vacant manager position.
Struggling Spanish side Real Sociedad have sacked manager Jagoba Arrasate. If reports are to be believed, former Everton and Manchester United manager David Moyes has been identified as a potential replacement for Arraste. After leaving the Manchester United job last season, Moyes has been out of work. It is believed that the Spanish club have shortlisted three men for the job: Pepe Mel, the former West Bromwich Albion manager, David Moyes and Argentinaai??i??s World Cup final coach, Alejandro Sabella.
Real Sociedad have been on a terrible run of form as the Basque club have picked up just six points from a possible 30 in La Liga. The club is positioned 19th in the league table, 2 points away from the bottom ahead of next weekend’s intimidating visit of champions Atletico Madrid. Sociedad, who finished fourth in 2013 and seventh last term, were also knocked out of the Europa League following a humiliating defeat to Russian side Krasnodar in August in the qualifiers.

Arrasate was assistant to Philippe Montanier and became head coach when the Frenchman left before the 2013-14 season. In his first season Real finished bottom of their Champions League group and ended the La Liga campaign in seventh place.
Moyes could be a good replacement for Arrasate as he has a lot of experience having managed Premier League side Everton for as long as 11 years. Moyes received a lot of praise and recognition for his work managing Everton. The Scot was chosen to succeed Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United after the latterai??i??s retirement at the end of 2012-13 season. His stint at Manchester United was a huge debacle and he was sacked in less than ten months, as the club finished 7th in the Premier League and ended the season without winning any silverware.
