FC Barcelona and PSG are in final negotiations for the transfer of central defender Marquinhos and the deal could be announced on Monday.
Central defennce is the area of greatest concern for FC Barcelona and they seem to have got their man in early part of this transfer window.

Marquinhos moved to Paris Saint Germain from Italian side AS Roma for ai??i??35 million but now looks set to leave for FC Barcelona. Barca are expected to splash around ai??i??30 millions for the player and right back Dani Alves is also going to be involved as part of the transfer. However, the value of Alvesai??i?? transfer is not decided yet.
Dani Alves has entered into final year of his ai??i??10 million a year contract and reportedly, Barca management is not ready to offer him an improved contract. The Brazilian is not happy with this situation and wants to move out of Camp Nou. French champions PSG have gone public to express their interest in Alves and the player himself is ready for a move as he said earlier that month that ai???PSG are real alternative for meai???.
PSG are on verge of completing a ai??i??50 million move for Chelsea star David Luiz and considering the constraints of UEFAai??i??s Financial Fair Play rule, they will have to sell one of their stars. Apparently, FC Barcelona are also interested in a world class defender and hence, this deal suits both the clubs.
Strengthening the central defence has been the first priority for FC Barcelona coach Luis Enrique ever since his appointment. Carles Puyol has announced his retirement while Gerard Pique has not been able to maintain his consistency off late. Makeshift defender Javier Mascherano is also not the permanent solution. The signing of Marquinhos proves good answer to all the aforementioned problems.
And interestingly Javier Mascherano has also signed his contract extension yesterday which means that the Blaugrana will not go for another defensive signing this summer.
As effect of this signing, FC Barcelona management is expected to show the exit door to ex-Arsenal man Alex Song. The Cameron international was never able to impress the coaching staff of Barcelona and was always used sparingly by the club.
